Vitamin C - ascorbic acid

Vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, is a powerful antioxidant that scavenges free radicals, and acts as an anti-inflammatory in all body tissues.

Topical usage of vitamin C is associated with improvement in damaged skin and wrinkling and increases the skin cell density. It also helps prevent oxidative damage.

Ultraviolet radiation, as well as smoke and environmental pollutants, create free oxygen radicals in the skin and accelerate the signs of aging.
